John Tilton Homes is owned by John and Chris Tilton. Together they have over 55 year experience in building beautiful quality homes in South Carolina and Georgia. They can work with you to build your dream home in the Low Country.

John Tilton Homes is a proud and active member of Home Builders Association of the Low Country (HBLC) and the Jasper Chamber of Commerce. We also support local community groups such as Jasper Youth Baseball, proudly sponsor Jasper County Relay for Life (American Cancer Society) and we support our local Gopher Hill Festival.

John Tilton Homes’ mission statement is short and to the point yet packed with significance. At John Tilton Homes, we want to do everything we can to make people’s lives better. This starts with the client. We want to build a home that matches their expectations and fulfills the dream they developed when this process started. We want to do this in a fun-filled, worry-free process. Building a home should be one of the most exciting events of a person’s life. It is surely one of the most significant investments. This is not to say that we are building “the perfect house”. We are dealing with people and materials that simply are not perfect. But what we strive to do is build a structurally sound home that matches the vision that you brought to the table. We also guarantee that we will do everything in our power to make this as enjoyable as possible.

John Tilton – Co-owner
John was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia. He attended Southern Tech in Atlanta where he studied Building Technology. John moved to Hilton Head, SC in 1964 and took a job with Graves Construction. In 1973, John left Graves and formed Tilton Construction. He continued building quality homes in the Hilton Head/Bluffton area until he moved to Jasper County in 1998. At this time he set up shop and started building homes in the Ridgeland area. In 2005, he and his son Chris joined forces and formed John Tilton Homes. John has over forty years construction experience in the Low Country and looks forward to many more.

Chris Tilton – Co-Owner
Chris was born and raised in the low country of South Carolina. He attended Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta and graduated with honors in the field of Building Construction. He moved back to South Carolina upon graduation and began work with a construction firm at Fripp Island. After eleven years, he took a job with a high end builder in Atlanta, Georgia. After numerous conversations with his father, John, Chris decided to move back to South Carolina in 2005. The partnership with his father became the birth of John Tilton Homes. Chris is married with four children and plans to spend the rest of his life in the beauty of the South Carolina Low Country.

Kim Thomas – Office Manager & Plan Designer
Kim is the office manager and the in-house plan designer for John Tilton Homes. She holds an AA Degree from the Pittsburgh Technical Institute, Pittsburgh PA and has over 17 years of drafting experience in the Low Country. She formerly worked under Wayne Dell, a local Architect. She is active with her local church and community and is Chairman of the Jasper County Planning Commission. Kim lives in Ridgeland with her husband Steven, son Steven and daughter Amanda.

Caitlin Bryan – Administrative Assistant
Caitlin joined John Tilton Homes in April of 2007.  She has over four years of secretarial experience gained through employment with Attorney David S. Mathews Office. She was born and raised in Ridgeland and is an alumni of Thomas Heyward Academy.  Caitlin remains a resident of Ridgeland with her husband, Daniel Bryan.

Ed Baron - Superintendent
Ed is the superintendent for John Tilton Homes, overseeing quality control for all projects. He retired after 20 years in the Air Force as Master Sergeant and another 20 with the National Park Service as Chief of Maintenance. He now lives full time in Ridgeland with his wife, Frances so they can be close to their daughter and her family.

Joe Taylor
Joe has worked with John Tilton in various capacities for 35 years. He is currently our resident handy and trim out man on all projects. Joe is a life-long resident of Jasper County and currently resides in Hardeeville with his wife Dorothy, daughter and grandson.
